Frank James Lea

Born April 1, 1947 in Victoria, BC. raised in West Vancouver. He died at home with his loved ones after a courageous fight with Pancreatic cancer.

He is preceded by his grandparents Frank and Minnie Lea, Catherine and Willfred Melhuish and John Neve. His mother Peggy Lea and his sister Sharon Lea.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 20 years, Patty-anne and their children Ewan, Duncan, and Cameron (De-anna) Christopher, Rae-anne (Paul) Barton, Graeme (Selina) Cumpstone.

Grandchildren: Alexis and Nathaniel Cumpstone, and Jared Barton; his father Dan Lea, brother Robert Lea, sister Marion (Darrell) Burkell; nephews: Gordon, Ryan and Taylor Burkell; aunts, uncles, cousins and foster children, especially close ones: Don Cleugh, New Zealand; Chad Stewart, Chemainus; Carissa Smillie and Sarah Mayea.

He was proud to be a millwright at Norske Canada, Crofton. Jim was an avid sailor and fly fisherman. After being grounded from flying due to diabetes, Jim turned his love of flight and confidence in today’s youth, into teaching Flying Scholarship at 744 Cowichan Air Cadets.
