Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 9, 2010 aft er returning from an extended holiday in Maui. He is survived by his loving family. His wife of 54 years Dagmar, son Andreas (Joann), daughter Sigrid(Archie), grandchildren Amanda-Emily (Mark), Samantha-Andrea-Lydia, Gabriel-Kevin, Madalina-Kimberly, great-grandchildren Markos-Jayden, Felicia-Sophia, brother Gerd Wichary (Erika) in Germany and will be missed by many friends and extended family.

Gunther was an award-winning bricklayer/stone-mason and owner of Yellow Point Masonry. He lived for 40 years in Yellow Point before moving to Nanaimo, BC. In lieu of fl owers (although fl owers were a large part of his life) donations can made to the Children’s Hospital of Vancouver or Children’s Hunger Fund. Memorial and a Celebration of Life service will be held at Telford’s Memorial Chapel at 595 Townsite Road, Nanaimo BC on Saturday March 20, 2010 at 2:00pm.
