Helen L. Saunders

May 31, 1940 - September 29, 2016
It is with great sadness we say good-bye to Helen Saunders. She was a shining light for all of us, our days will be a little dimmer without her smile.
Helen passed away peacefully September 29 2016 at the Cowichan District Hospital, Duncan, BC, with her husband Bob and granddaughter Krystal by her side.
Predeceased by mother Jessie 1983, father Charlie 2003, brother Dennis 2011 and stepmother Bertha 2015.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Robert J. (Bob) and daughters Novah (Josh) Ladysmith, BC; Jody (Trevor) Prince George, BC; Carmen (Liam), Prince George, BC; Robin (Brad) Ladysmith BC; and Tara, Kitimat, BC; as well as 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and brother Fred (Shirley) and Kathy - the sister she never had. Plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. We cannot forget Helen’s loving, faithful Shih Tzu Sukie who misses her.
The family wish to thank all the nurses and Dr. G. Blackburn of the Cowichan District Hospital I.C.U. floor for their care in making our Helen’s last days peaceful and comfortable.
A thank you to all that sent words of comfort and cards.
Thanks to the granddaughter Krystal for her time spent with me running back and forth to Duncan.
A very special and heart-felt thanks to Eva and Manny Hale for their comforting words and friendship and help and the food was better than number one. I cannot thank them enough.
There will be no service or Celebration of Life as per Helen’s wish.
Till we meet again my love and we will,
Then we can carry on where we left off.
