Jacqueline (Jackie) Bernice
Jackie was born in Ladysmith May 14, 1928, passed away peacefully in Cowichan District Hospital March 14, 2003 following a courageous battle with Cancer. Jackie, a Native Daughter of Ladysmith, leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Florence Foster, her school sweetheart, best friend and husband of 57 years Al, three children Shirlee (Dave) King, Gayle (Don) Stubbington, Garth (Cathy) Gilroy, five grandchildren: Al, Wendy, Dwain, Shawn, Billy, six great-grandchilren: Randean, Jessica, Breanne, Nick, Nichole and Mark, one uncle Bill Michie, one sister and five nieces and nephews. Jackie was a homemaker above all else, devoting herself to her home and family. You would usually find Jackie in the kitchen baking cookies, outside tending her garden, reading or sharing her simple philosophy of looking on the bright side, with her family and close friends. Funeral Services at the United Church, 3rd Avenue Ladysmith, Wed-nesday, March 19, 2003 at 1:00 pm. Tea to follow at Eagles Hall, 1st Avenue, Ladysmith.
