In loving memory ~
Jackie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughters Lois (Rex) Stevenson and Noreen (Jack) Gale, her grandchildren Jody (Linnea), Brady (Elcia), Holly (Robbie), Bayley (Dan) and Carson and her great-grandchildren Ayden, Rylan, Araylia, Koen, Adam, Ava, DJ and Max. Her brother Bob (Barb) Heyes and numerous Nieces and Nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Bill and her sister Betty Wilson.
Jackie lived her entire life in Ladysmith and worked for many years at the Hillside Medical Clinic. In her younger years, Mom and Dad enjoyed camping, travelling and spending time with family. She enjoyed her volunteer work with the Ladysmith Hospital Auxiliary and was the first person to receive an award for 60 years of volunteer work with this organization. Mom always loved music and in her later years, she sang with the "Over The Hill Gang" and spent many hours entertaining residents in Senior Facilities around the area. Later in her life, she moved to La Rosa Gardens and then to Oyster Harbour. Mom had a good life surrounded by family and friends. She was always happy and thankful for what she had and she loved helping other people.
She will be dearly missed but we know she is in a better place. We cannot express enough thanks to the staff at La Rosa Gardens and Oyster Harbour for the wonderful care they gave Mom during her time in each facility. We were very grateful knowing she was in good hands.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vancouver Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
