Jane Elizabeth MORO (nee Davern)

August 7, 2006

Our “Lady Jane” lost her courageous battle with cancer August 7, 2006.  Preceded by her daughter Mary Kate, husband Lawrence, and parents Clarence & Mary Davern.  Left to mourn are Jane’s children, her pride and joy, Joseph and Laura (m. Japheth)   sister Nancy, nephew Andrew, niece Liz, great nephew Anthony, her friends at the Old Town Bakery, Kate, Seth, Geoff and her dear Barbie. Jane was born October 12, 1951 in London Ontario, locating west in the late 70’s.  Jane had an unbelievable gift to take a true interest in every person’s life that crossed her path.   Jane’s genuine disposition and passionate spirit filled the hearts of everyone she knew.

Jane never lost her hope, describing the past seven months as “something so huge, so massive, much like riding an elephant, that was piggy-backing her on this new journey she had begun.  This new journey had given her the gift of freedom, to let go of some grief, some anger, some denial, enabled her to feel true joy and most importantly gave her the ability to receive everything, from the triumphant outpour of support from the community,  her friends, and her family.”  She (was) and her family (are) forever grateful for everyone’s generosity, the cards of hope and strength, and the warm thoughts & prayers.

A celebration of Jane’s life was held at, in her words, “paradise at sea-level”, the Ladysmith Amphitheatre, on August 12th.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Children’s Hospital of British Colombia.

“Pax vobiscum”

(may peace be with you)  ~ Jane
