In Loving Memory ~
Janice Frances Vosper (nee Craig) died of complications from advanced appendiceal cancer on Monday, January 23, 2023, under the compassionate care of palliative nurses at NRGH, with her husband Gregory and children Dexter and Kristjanne by her side.
Born in 1952 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Janice is pre-deceased by brother Tommy, mother Frances Marolyn and father James A. Craig.
She is survived by her siblings Kerry, Matthew, Lori, Kristjana, Dan, Jim, and Susan. She will be greatly missed by her many friends.
Janice had a sharp eye and whip-smart sense of humour. She was kind, generous and full of fun. She loved holidays, always looking forward to and making plans for the next celebration with family and friends.
She was a devoted daughter, loving sister, and passionate mom and early childhood educator who cultivated in her children, and in all of the children whose lives she touched, an enduring sense of imagination.
She loved music. She loved to dance. She loved socializing, going out to community events, singing, reading, painting, gardening, and playing cards and games.
She approached new community members with an open heart and a genuine desire to make a new friend. She was humble and diplomatic but unafraid to meet injustice with courage and integrity.
Janice lived by her belief in the value of being an active participant and agent for change in the world. Always upbeat and smiling, she shared her joy for life with everyone she encountered - the party girl.
All are welcome to attend a memorial service at Hope Lutheran Church in Nanaimo on Saturday, February 11, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Canadian Lutheran World Relief.
