JEAN BROWN FORD

June 24, 2007

Jean Brown Ford departed for that peaceful place on Sunday afternoon June 24. At that moment there was a very loud thunder and lightning storm followed by a heavy rain. This seemed significant. She was with many of her loving family who knew they would never again see her beautiful smile or experience her amazing generosity. Jean was always happiest if she could give you something and see it made you happy. This could be fresh baked chocolate chip cookies or something from a cupboard she thought you might like or feed you coffee or lunch. Mom made friends easily and touched many people who knew and loved her. Mom was born in Extension, B.C. on May 23, 1921 to James and Jeannie Macdonald of Nanaimo River Road. A daughter and son, Jeanette Gellein (Jim) and Gerry Ford (Marj), seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren survive mom. Her many nieces and nephews were good to her throughout her life. A graveside service will be held at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens at 1:30 Tuesday July 3, where she will join her loving husband Ronald Ford. Mom and dad were married for 52 years and had many happy and memorable trips in their truck and camper through the interior of B.C. and into the West Coast of the Island. A tea and reception will follow at Extension.
