Born in Ladysmith, B.C., February 13, 1929.

Beloved wife of Richard (Dick) of 53 years.

Left to remember their mother: Marilyn (Terry) Stevenson, Terrill of Langley, Michelle (Mickey) Turgeon, Laurie (Charles Fraser. Fondly remembered by grandchilren and great grandchildren Shelley, Sage (Micheline, Claire, Luc), Stephen and Richard Fraser, Nathan Morgan Smith and Robert Turgeon.

Predeceased by son Richard Andrew (Drew) and father Thomas Francis, mother Nellie Francis, sister: Irene Morris, Isabella Blake, Doris Noye, brother Stanley, John, Robert, William and Edgar (Ted).

Survived by sisters: Hazel English and Sylvia Ratzlaff, extended family of nephews, nieces, cousins and sisters and brothers-in-law around the globe.

Joan passed away peacefully after a long battle with a long time illness. Kindest thanks to the staff of Chemainus and Ladysmith who tirelessly attended to our mother’s needs and the dignity and grace which they helped her live her final years, will be dearly remembered, special thanks to Margaret and Harry Erickson for their many years of kindness and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Memorial Tea will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2003 in Eagle’s Hall, Ladysmith, B.C. Arrangements by Telford’s Mortuary.
