In Loving Memory ~

There's another star in the night sky now, as Karlie left us on August 26, to join her Mom & Dad in Heavens.

She passed quietly at her beautiful waterfront home in Mill Bay. Cancer claimed her body but never her mind nor spirit.

She grew up in Yellow Point, where her family owned "Tillicum Seaside Cottages" from the 40s - 70s. She caused a little chaos at North Oyster Elementary, then went on to graduate from Ladysmith High School.

She thrived and enjoyed performing with the "Yellow Point Drama Group" in the 50s and her children were often reminded of her elocution lessons from those days. After high school, she did her nurses training at St. Joseph's in Victoria.

On May 11, 1963, she married the luckiest guy on the planet, according to Ben. As he was in the navy, they moved around a lot and raised 2 incredible daughters, Vickie and Krissie. She lived out her retirement years with Ben in Mill Bay.

Her granddaughter Katrina was her darling forever!

Her family would appreciate a donation to the Canadian (or BC) Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

There will be a celebration of life at 1 p.m., on October 14 at the Mill Bay Community League Hall (1035 Shawnigan - Mill Bay Rd).
