It is with heavy hearts we are announcing the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Larry Williams, of Ladysmith, BC.
Born in Chemainus and raised in North Oyster, Larry is survived by his cherished wife, Sheila, two sons, Brent (Terri), and Bradley, and two grandsons, Julian and Jacob who adored their Papa as much as he did them.
Three brothers, Parker, Jim, and Brian, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who admired him dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Baden and Margaret, and three brothers, Gerry, Daniel, and Donald, and his in-laws Cyril and Beryl Watkins.
Larry was a heavy-duty mechanic and began his career in the Queen Charlotte Islands in 1964 and worked continuously on Vancouver Island in the IWA for forestry, including nine years in Management, until his retirement in 2010.
His family lived in numerous communities to accommodate his work and made many friends along the way, Nitnat, Lake Cowichan, Sayward, and returned to Ladysmith.
Larry served on the Diamond Water Board and was very involved with the Eagle's Organization and served two terms as President of Aeries 2101, and was an active member right up to the end. Sheila and Larry spent many years camping, fishing, sitting in hockey arenas watching their boys, bowling, golfing, and travelling in their RV with family and friends and sharing laughter and hospitality always.
He helped and touched the lives of countless people and family members who respected and appreciated him throughout his lifetime and he will be so missed around the camp fire.
Thanks to the Staff at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital for their compassionate care and assistance to our family at this difficult time.
Celebration of Larry's Life will be held on Sunday, June 26/22, at the Eagles Hall in Ladysmith, from 12 - 3pm.
