We regret to announce the passing of Lavonne at the Lodge on 4th in Ladysmith, BC. Lavonne was born in Turner Valley, AB and grew up in Calgary. She spent her childhood years around the racetrack grooming race horses that her father owned and trained. As a young girl, Lavonne excelled at speed skating, making the Provincial Finals. Then, Lavonne met Les Martyn from Ladysmith who became her husband of 53 years. After a couple of years and a baby in Alberta, Les and Lavonne moved to Ladysmith where they spent the rest of their lives. Lavonne's life revolved around her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother and had many friends. After Les' death in 2006, Lavonne moved to Four All Seasons Retirement Lodge then to The Lodge on 4th where she enjoyed fabulous care. Lavonne in survived by her sons Rob (Faye) and Kim (Linda), and grandchildren Ryan & Curtis and Carla & Amy, also by her brother Bob (Joyce) Southwood, sister in law Lavonne, and nieces and nephews.
