Passed away peacefully at Ladysmith Extended Care in her 94th year. Â Pre-deceased by her adored husband Ivan Gardner of Ladysmith BC in April 1996, seven siblings and one great-granddaughter.
Born at the family homestead in Treesbank Manitoba, Margaret immigrated to England with her first husband in 1936, returning to Canada in 1957 settling in the Vancouver area. Â In 1967 Margaret moved to Ladysmith upon her marriage to Ivan. Â Â Margaret and Ivan danced and traveled their way through 29 wonderful years. Â They visited Europe on numerous occasions and also traveled to New Zealand, the Far East including Hong Kong and Bali.
Rejoicing in her life are her son Stan (Katrina) Bourner of Richmond, daughter Judy Bournier of Pickering, Ontario and the extended Gardner clan: Gladys (Walter) Adams of Nanaimo, Myrna (Albert) Soutar of Victoria, Don (Ann) Gardner of Campbell River, 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
Special thanks to Dr. F. Kennedy, the staff of LaRosa Gardens, Nanaimo Extended Care, her Step Family, Gladys, Myrna, Don and Carol, Â who all provided comfort and support during the past few years.
Funeral Service was held Monday August 14, 2006 at Ladysmith United Church. Private Interment at Cedar Valley August 15, 2006.
In memory of the Gardners, donations to the Nanaimo & District Shrine Club #10 to the Gizeh Crippled Childrens Fund, would be greatly appreciated.
May you rest in peace Mom and go and dance once again with Ivan in Heaven.
