She and Bill with their family moved from Tynehead to Vancouver Island in 1954 and purchased their home in Chemainus in 1955 where they raised their family.
Marybeth was a volunteer for the United Church, organized the Thrift Shop and started “Meals on Wheels” in Chemainus, also belonged to sewing and knitting clubs and loved making hats — thus known as the “hat lady”.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care and kindness given to Marybeth by the Duncan Manor Staff and residents, and the Doctors and Nurses of the Cowichan District Hospital.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 from 2 to 4pm at the DUNCAN MANOR, 280 First Street, Duncan, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice or the Heart & Stroke
