It is with great sadness that we announce Sharon's passing. Born in Vancouver, BC, Sharon was the daughter of George & Marguerite Tarlier and the eldest of four siblings: Wayne, Ron and Ray.
She met her husband Al in the summer of 1966 and they were married three years later on June 6, 1969.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 52 years, Al, her three brothers and children: Tanya (Shawn), Tara (Corey) and Brent (Joyce). Sharon's legacy will live on through her grandchildren: Keegan, Mattea, Sydney, Malachi, Melissa, Brandon, Myla, Rylar, Makenzie, Katrina and Mia.
Sharon and Al moved to Ladysmith in the spring of 1978 where they remained to raise their family. They purchased the Peppercot Coffee Shop in the winter of 1983 and spent the next 20 years serving their homemade baked goods & soups to the Ladysmith Community. Sharon enjoyed socializing with the cafe's customers.
Forming many long term friendships over the years. It was not unusual for Sharon to pick up the telephone in her free time to check on the state of health of a customer who was known to be under the weather, or as we used to say "Missing in Action".
Sharon and Al moved to Nanaimo in the spring of 2010 where she lived out her remaining years, enjoying her view of Nanaimo's busy harbour. Sharon miraculously survived a massive heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery in May 2013. We will be forever grateful for the eight "bonus" years we were able to share with her.
Sharon is remembered by her family and friends as a gentle, loving, compassionate, dedicated wife, mother, mammy, as well as a true animal lover and loyal friend.
At Sharon's request there will be no service. A private ceremony for family and close friends will be held in the fall at which her ashes will be spread in a place of her choice.
