left this world peacefully, on 23 May, 2005 at Vancouver General Hospital, with her husband at her side, and surrounded by all the love she created. Shirley was born July 7, 1933 in Nanaimo, BC. She was descended from a pioneering BC family. Shirley had a happy childhood in Ladysmith. In 1954, she moved to Vancouver. Her friends and family will always cherish how she touched their lives with her love, kindness, generosity, and encouragement. She was incredibly positive and had a tremendous zest for life. Shirley will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 48 years, Allan; daughter Heidi (Glen) and son Monte (Anne); her sister Lorelei (Wayne); two grandchildren, nieces and nephew, as well as many relatives and good friends. No service by request. A private gathering of family and friends will take place in Vancouver on 5 June to celebrate Shirley’s life.
