George passed
away peacefully
on April 13, 2011
in NRGH with
his loving wife by his side. George was
predeceased by his infant son, parents Bill
and Grace, sister Gladys Dick and motherin-
law Impi Sanderson.
Survived by his wife of over 56 years,
Irene, the love of his life.
His children: Lynn Cowell, Derek (Linda),
Debora (Bruce) Lovely, Lisa (Rick)
Bronson and Kirk (Wanda).
His grandchildren: Tyler (Erin) Cowell,
Jenny-Lynne (Donald) Barber, Tamara
(Dan) Currall, Lacey Telford, Ricki-Lee
(Greg) Allison and Wyatt Bronson.
His great grandchildren: Kydin and
Cutler Currall, Aila and Kaya Cowell.
Brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces,
nephews and cousins.
George was born and lived his life in
Ladysmith. He had a varied career
working in the forest industry, worked 43
years on the beach longshoring and with
Empire Stevedoring.
George loved his family and friends
more than anything. Motorcycling was a
passion. Irene and George enjoyed many
great trips. He enjoyed his time with the
GWTA and GWRRA. George loved going
with his sons on hunting trips, that time
was so special to him. George was an
active member of the Legion Branch 171.
A Celebration of Life will be held April
23, 2011 at the Eagles Hall in Ladysmith,
1:00-4:00. In lieu of fl owers, please make
a donation to a charity of your choice in
his name.
