In Loving Memory ~
It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Trent Pifko announces his sudden passing.
Trent is survived by his mother Brenda Pifko (Ian), father Ashley Pifko (Fern), girlfriend Megan Haskayne, maternal grandfather Bob Raynor (Marilyn), paternal grandmother Phyllis Pifko, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends that he collected throughout his short life.
Trent had a huge and loving heart, and those of us fortunate enough to receive them know that Trent gave the best hugs. He loved deeply and had tremendous compassion for others.
Trent loved to be outdoors, and fishing was an important part of his life. He felt most at peace and happy when he was sitting at the lake with a line in. He often sent photos from his phone saying that he was in his happy place.
He inherited the love of this hobby from his father Ashley, and it was something they loved to do together whenever possible.
Sitting around a campfire with friends and loved ones was another thing he loved, and if an actual camping trip was involved, so much the better. Trent loved to cook for the people he loved, and often sent photos of his creations.
Trent worked at several different jobs, from construction to tree services, the Point Hope Shipyard, but eventually found a home at Campbell Construction in Victoria. There he settled in and met some people that would have great influence on his life. He enjoyed the work and was proud of the things he was doing. He was treated with respect and admired for his work ethic, which was always strong.
It was while working at Campbell Construction that Trent met Megan. He fell hard and fast for her, and she quickly became the centre of his world. He loved spending time with her, and her family embraced Trent with open arms. He said many times that he planned to marry her and sincerely wanted to build a life with her.
Unfortunately, that was not to be his fate. His personal pain ultimately overshadowed the joy he had found, and it was too much for him to bear. If our love could have saved him, he would still be here with us.
Trent will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Trent's life will be held at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan, BC on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2pm and all are welcome to attend.
