In Loving Memory ~
With a loss that is felt deep, the family announces the passing of Willem (Bill) Dankert Blokhuizen.
Bill was born in Holland and spent most of his life living on Vancouver Island.
Bill passed away quietly at home with his family at his bedside. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 25 years - Jerri. His children and stepchildren; Chris (Elizabeth), Stacey, Wes (Natasha), Kelsey (Caleb), Curtis (Chrissy), and Kyley. Bill is survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews that will carry forward his memory.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, his younger brother Roy, sister-in-law Lynn, and brother-in-law Cliff.
Bill is also survived by his brother Henry (Linda), sister Annette (Dan), Roy's wife Linda, Lynn's husband Mike, sister-in-law Pat, and sister-in-law Sandy (Al).
Bill fought a courageous battle with a disease that consumed his body yet never stood a chance against his mind and memories. He was quick-witted with a sense of humour through the end. Bill spent his working life as a self-employed Concrete Finisher and his passions were mechanics, classic cars, motorcycles, and his dogs. He was proud of the home he built, and he left behind many lifelong friends. Bill made friends easily and kept them close. Willing always to lend a hand.
The garage door was always open, and the beer fridge was fully stocked.

For you'll still be here tomorrow.
But now I had to go.
